Here is how our engagement will typically progress…
- Approach : Firstly, the services are explained briefly over phone & detailed email sent
- Initial meeting : In the first meeting, the services & fees are clearly explained and the client gets to understand as to what we stand for & what we would be delivering. A plan is also shown so that they understand the detailing involved and the extent of data required for creation of the plan.
An Information Sheet is sent to them to get their specific data, once the client wants to proceed. The client will revert with it and specific clarifications are sought on the data. If required a meeting is arranged for it. An “Engagement of Services” document is signed. At this stage, the full fee for the plan becomes due. A time for the next meeting is set up.
- Basic plan presentation : In this meeting, the basic plan is presented and debated; new thoughts, scenarios, changes etc. which may come up, are noted for incorporating in the final plan. A time for the next meeting is set up.
- Final Plan presentation : In the subsequent meeting, the final plan is presented and fully explained. This will contain the recommendations too, which will be explained and debated. In this meeting, if the client wants us to proceed with the recommendations, an “ Authority to Proceed “ document is signed and implementation process is started. Balance fees if any, for any other services plus for any extra work done, apart from that for a regular plan, is payable at this point.
- Implementation : For implementing the plan, further interactions may be required, which are not separately charged. Complete assistance for all investments, insurance etc. are provided and their completion facilitated.
- Management of investments : Management & Monitoring will be done by us for a one year period. We have a software to especially monitor MF portfolio. Reports on MF will come to you from our side, from time to time. Apart from this, the client will also be able access their MF portfolio information from the net, using their user id & password.
- Review : After a year, the plan is reviewed. Review is done to see whether the plan has progressed as laid out and whether any course correction is required.
- After one year … : Further Financial Planning, consulting and Mutual Fund management assistance can be availed of, as desired. This is similar to what was done in the first year – the idea here being to continue the process and take it forward. The engagement needs to be renewed to carry the finaincial planning process forward.
If there are huge changes due to which the plan needs to be redone ( due to abrupt change in cashflows ) within a year itself, we would redo the plan to incorporate the changes.
